Like everyone else in Richmond, we are heartbroken about the sudden loss of our friend and colleague, Larry Davis. It was just two years ago this time that he opened his gourmet boutique here in the shopping center. It’s hard to say which we were the most excited about … having Larry close by, or having easy access to his famous High-Kick Pimento cheese … but you couldn’t love one without the other. His supportive enthusiasm for any good thing that was happening was a joy, and his smile brought sunshine to everyone in the room. This loss is another example of how fleeting our time here is. I only just met Larry Davis irl at O’Toole’s few weeks ago after the monks were in RVA. We had been FB friends for over a year because of a mutual friend. Even though my knowledge of him was limited, I sensed his spirit right away. I am so saddened by his loss.
I first met Larry in our "salad days," when our combined ages nowhere near reached my present age. Old-timers will remember the Carytown Inn, which was where we met. He was a bubbly, smiling cherub then, all of 19. We went out later that week for drinks to a wonderful place called Manhattan, at the corner, I think, of Allison and W. Broad in the fan. I remember I was so proud to be out with him because he was so darn good-looking. We were never close, but I do think of him with fondness. Rip Godspeed
Larry was a loving and oh! so full of joy fella. He made us all feel special. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. 💔🙏🏻

A bright light for sure, he will be missed by so many. He was the first stylist to touch my hair when I moved to Richmond 20+ yrs ago & whenever I ran into him around town he always took the time to say hello. Rest in peace.

We lost our senior (17.5 yr old) chihuahua mix passed last summer. His rescue little Chihuahua sister (about 8yrs old) is in need of another companion/snuggle buddy. Unfortunately, given our living arrangement, we’re unable to adopt another, much bigger than “small”. Might there be any small sized available for a meet up & possible adoption, at this event?
