Proceeds from sales at Furbish Thrift support animal welfare organizations in the Greater Richmond, Va. area. Since we opened in Feb. 2023, we have awarded thousands of dollars in quarterly grants to deserving 501(c)(3) organizations. We host monthly Benefit Weekends, where we donate 10% of sales proceeds to a selected animal rescue charity, and our volunteers create as much fanfare as possible around those events to increase both sales, and awareness of the organization’s good works. We built a dedicated pet adoption room for use by our animal rescue partners, and expect to surpass 175 adoptions in 2023. We have an accessible pet food and supply pantry that has provided thousands of pounds of free food to people who need it for their pets. We created a scholarship fund to raise money for Veterinary education. These are just some of our efforts so far, in our first year.

No, all of the goods in our store are donated by our community to help animals. 

The community’s generosity provides an ever-changing influx of goods, and we do a lot of our intake, rearranging, cleaning, and other store tasks on days we’re closed to the public. We additionally do a lot of the behind-the-scenes work of managing animal welfare efforts for upcoming events. 

We use different color stickers to track how long an item has been in the store. When we decide it is appropriate, we put certain colors and categories on sale, based on our inventory. Stay tuned to our social media to find out about sales!

Yes! We can deliver your purchase throughout the greater Richmond area for a $40 delivery fee.

We’re a nonprofit thrift store whose mission is to raise money for animal welfare organizations in Richmond. Credit card processing fees add up to hundreds of dollars a day, which takes away from profits that go toward our mission. To avoid paying the 3% processing fee, please pay for your purchases with cash. Thank you for helping! 

All sales are final. We do not issue refunds or offer exchanges. Please be sure to inspect or test all items before purchasing them. If you need help testing something, please just ask one of our associates!

We’re open Wednesday thru Sunday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM

Well-behaved, non-reactive pets are always welcomed in our store! All pets must be leashed at all times. 

We accept donations during our business hours! (Wed-Sun 10 AM – 6 PM). Please do not leave donations outside of the store when we’re closed.
